# What is a learning path?

A learning path is a step-by-step sequence of FMS courses built for your field. There are four: **Healthcare**, **Fitness**, **Performance** and **Wellness**. Each shows you what to take first, what comes next and how each course builds on the last.

Within your learning path, we ask for your specific profession, such as physical therapist, athletic trainer or personal trainer. That lets us tailor your courses and recommendations to the work you do.

Your path appears on **My Dashboard** under **Your \[Profession\] Learning Path**. It starts with three free courses: Introduction to Evaluating Movement, Introduction to Correcting Movement and The FMS Approach. Finish all three and you unlock 20% off your first online course purchase, applied automatically at checkout (excludes the Academy membership). From there, the path moves through certifications like FMS, SFMA and Y-Balance Test.

To change your profession, go to **Edit Profile → Profile**, click **Update User Info** and update your **Profession**. Your dashboard path updates to match.

You can also explore any path on the **Courses** page. Filter by **Profession** (Healthcare, Fitness, Performance or Wellness), or use the **Learning Path** filter to pick a specific profession and see its courses in the order we recommend taking them.
